Serpens

Our blood keeps us whole

Example

Dry steppes and deep damp jungles cover these dangerous lands of turmoil. Where the ruling class, the drachmani are at constant conflict with the peasant class the Ohrman. Despite being two separate people they share an uncanny resemblance with only their eye colour to set them apart from each other.

The Ohrman

A brown skinned, black haired and green eyed people who came to these lands a thousand years ago, infamous for their worship of Amot, the great serpent.

The Drachmani

A people who invaded the lands a few hundered years ago riding dragons and using strange magics. They share the Ohrmani brown skin and black hair, but with blue eyes instead of green.

Religion

The Drachmani worship dragons, most prominently Ra to whom they grant sacrafices through ritual burnings. There are rumors of them interbreeding with dragons, giving them uncanny magical abilities. Becoming a priest of Ra is vital if one seeks to rule land in Serpens, with their highest feudal status being that of the sorcerer kings. The Ohrman on the other hand are forbidden from worshipping their own god Amot. Deceit is seen as one of the most grave sins one can commit in Serpens and kept the Ohrman from worshipping in secret. But those at the edges of civilisation still worship the old faith. Amot is famed for bringing fertility in exchage for blood sacrafices
